Peace on earth.

Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9  And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. 10  Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11  "For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12  "And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger." 13  And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: 14  "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!"

- Luke 2:8-14

I am the bread.

"I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world."

- John 6:51

"Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk Without money and without price. 2 Why do you spend money for [what is] not bread, And your wages for [what] does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat [what is] good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance.

- Isaiah 55:1-2

Blessed [are] those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.

Angels announced to shepherds.

- Matthew 5:6

God provided Himself a Lamb.

And Abraham said, "My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering." So the two of them went together.

- Genesis 22:8

Reconciling the world.

that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

- 2 Corinthians 5:19

Reconciling - katallasso kat-al-las’-so 1) to change, exchange, as coins for others of equivalent value 1a) to reconcile (those who are at variance) 1b) return to favour with, be reconciled to one 1c) to receive one into favour

The ministry of reconciliation – “tell them I’m not mad”.

Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,

- 2 Corinthians 5:18

You can never appease God, but Jesus did.

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

- Romans 5:1

His blood settled the score.

And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

- 1 John 2:2

God was in Christ reconciling.

that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

- 2 Corinthians 5:19

Through Him we received reconciliation.

For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7  For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. 8  But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9  Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. 10  For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 11  And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

- Romans 5:6-11

God loved - or rather is Love.

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

He loved the world – ungodly.  Romans 5:6  For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

- I John 4:7, 8

No condemnation, but salvation.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.  18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

- John 3:17

Justified, not condemned.

But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness,

- Romans 4:5

Salvation through believing.

"He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
